If you love chocolate, this No Bake Nutella Fudge will be your new best friend. Just 5 ingredients, ready in under 30 minutes, no baking needed.

Ahhh…Nutella. There are two kinds of Nutella people in the world: those who love it and those who hate it. We are Nutella lovers. And this recipe is just the beginning. We’ve done Nutella stuffed doughnuts, Nutella Brownie Cookies, and Nutella stuffed sweet rolls just to name a few.

In the recent past we’ve had fun taking recipes that call for peanut butter and adding Nutella instead. And that’s where this No Bake Nutella Fudge came from.

9 squares of nutella fudge

We took our chocolate peanut butter bars and made a Nutella version just for you!

What you’ll love about this recipe:

  • hazelnut and chocolate flavor
  • extra creamy
  • 15 minute prep
  • no bake, just like our no bake cheesecake bars
  • adapt with sprinkles for holidays

Ingredients for No Bake Nutella Fudge

The no bake batter has just 4 ingredients:

  • Nutella
  • butter
  • powdered sugar
  • vanilla

When you mix these ingredients together, the batter will be really thick, but it won’t stick to your hands a whole lot because of the butter in it. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment or waxed paper and press in the batter with your hands. Melt some milk chocolate and pour over the top. We put just a tad bit of butter in with our chocolate as we melted it to soften the chocolate as it sets. We didn’t want a super hard layer of chocolate with our soft, no-cook fudge.

How to Make No Bake Nutella Fudge

  • Mix Nutella and butter together in a stand mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy.

  • Spoon the powdered sugar into the measuring cup, then level it off with a knife. Don’t pack it into the cup.
  • Add the sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is completely combined. The mixture will be very thick, but should be smooth.

  • Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper. Is this 100% necessary? Not really, but you’ll be able to cleanly remove the bars from the pan. Since this is not going in the oven, you could use wax paper instead. But wax paper is not as strong so it may be harder to remove.
  • Press the Nutella mixture down evenly in the pan.
  • Then spread with the melted chocolate (see below).

Melted Chocolate Topping

It is important to melt chocolate very slowly so that it does not burn.

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl very slowly, about 30 seconds, then stir. Then continue to melt it in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is almost melted. Add the softened tablespoon of butter, mix and melt the chocolate an additional 10 seconds if needed. The chocolate should be smooth.

Have a “melt” setting on your microwave? Set it to chocolate and “8 ounces” and start the microwave. You’ll still need to stop the microwave to stir the chocolate every 20-30 seconds so that it does not burn. Be sure that the butter is softened before you add it to the chocolate. It’s best to add the butter when the chocolate is 90% melted, then the butter will melt most of the way on its own. Put it in the microwave for an additional 10 seconds, if needed.

How to Cut Clean Fudge Bars

You know how when you cut bars with chocolate on top of it, the chocolate cracks and makes them look messy? Well, to get a nice, straight cut means you need to cut the bars before the chocolate sets completely. So stick the pan in the fridge for about 10 minutes after you spread on the chocolate and then cut out your perfect little squares. Set that timer because once you start another project, you may quickly forget!

If you’re not satisfied with that solution, just dip your knife in really hot water, dry it off, then use the hot knife to cut the bars. The hot knife helps soften the chocolate so you can get cleaner cuts.

Can you add toppings to these easy fudge bars?

Yes! Just be sure to add any toppings before the chocolate totally sets. Here are a few ideas:

  • powdered sugar
  • toffee
  • holiday sprinkles
  • chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Mix Nutella and butter together in a stand mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Spoon the powdered sugar into the measuring cup, then level it off with a knife. Don't pack it into the cup.
  • Add the sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is completely combined. The mixture will be very thick, but should be smooth.
  • Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper. Press the Nutella mixture down evenly in the pan.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl very slowly*, about 30 seconds, then stir. Then continue to melt it in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is almost melted. Add the softened tablespoon of butter, mix and melt the chocolate an additional 10 seconds if needed. The chocolate should be smooth.
  • Spread the chocolate evenly over the Nutella mixture. Allow the fudge to set in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Remove the dish from the fridge. Pull up on the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan.
  • While the chocolate is still slightly soft, cut the bars**. Place the bars on a cookie sheet and slide them back into the fridge to continue to set for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container.

Notes

*If you have a “melt” setting on your microwave, set it to chocolate and “8 ounces” and start the microwave.
**When the chocolate hardens completely, it may be hard to cut the bars and not have the chocolate break. I like clean cuts, which is why I cut the bars before the chocolate has completely set. If you forget to do this (which I have done many times!), dip your knife in very hot water before cutting the bars. This will help the chocolate to cut cleanly.
