Low Carb
Although we don’t strictly follow a Keto or low carb diet, we do watch the amount of carbs we eat and try to make good substitutions such as spaghetti squash in place of pasta and cauliflower in place of potatoes. Many of our recipes naturally fit into a low carb meal plan. Find a new one to try here.
What qualifies as low carb?
If you are trying to follow a low carb diet, you’ll want to stick to no more than 20-60 grams of carbs a day. For our active family, this is honestly hard to do! We’ve found that even under 100 grams of carbs today gives us a good amount of energy and is quite a bit lower than when we don’t watch carbs at all.
What can I eat on a low carb diet?
There are certain foods that you don’t need a “recipe” for. High protein meats such as eggs, chicken, fish, beef, and pork are excellent choices. Serve these alongside leafy green vegetables, cauliflower and broccoli.
Even fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and blackberries are great low carb choices.
