Ingredients Needed

ingredients for stuffed chicken breasts on a table
  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts. Smaller chicken breasts will cook in about 30 minutes, but larger may take up to 50.
  • Stovetop Stuffing. To keep the stuffed chicken breast recipe quick and easy, I used stove top stuffing mix. Make homemade stuffing if you’d like.
  • Seasonings. The seasonings are kept simple because the stovetop stuffing is already seasoned.

What to Serve with Stuffing-Stuffed Chicken Breast

Chicken breasts stuffed with stuffing are hearty enough to be eaten on their own, but if you’re looking for some sides you can’t go wrong with the classics.

Try serving with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, buttered peas, or a fresh salad on the side.

For an appetizer, serve with our vegetables and vegetable dip.

Can I make this ahead of time and freeze it?

Yes! You can make this stuffing-stuffed chicken breast recipe ahead of time, flash freeze it and cook it when you’re ready to eat it.

Follow the directions but instead of cooking the chicken, place in the freezer on a baking tray and allow them to freeze for 1 hour. Transfer them to a gallon sized resealable bag or other airtight container and label with the date. Your chicken breasts will last in the freezer for 2-3 months. Allow to thaw in the refrigerator and cook as directed.

Storage Instructions

If you have leftover stuffed chicken breasts with stuffing, allow them to cool completely, then transfer them to an airtight container or resealable plastic bag.

Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. If you need to store it longer than 3-4 days, transfer it to the freezer and freeze for up to 8 weeks. To reheat, turn the oven or air fryer to 400°F and heat for 7-10 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165°F.
